Module 5 Unit 1: Homework

 

During this unit you will be expected to complete the following homework. Your teacher may set you revision or assessment homework as extra to these.  

 

Week 1:

Define the following key terms:

Week 2:

Research online to be able to describe a World War 1 trench in a paragraph AND recreate it either by making a model or by drawing listing the following main features:



Duckboards

Fire Step

Dugouts

Periscope

Concrete bunker

Gas Bell

No Mans Land

Week 3:

Research any soldier from WW1 (Besides Harry Lamin).  Look at his experiences and any major battle he lived through or died in.  Bring in your research and share it with the class.  Look for any instances of "shell-shock."

 

Extension:

Look up what happened at the Treaty of Versailles and write it out as if you were explaining it to someone who does not know.
